Message from Randy Maslow, President and Interim CEO
To our Patients, Customers, Employees and Shareholders:
It is with great sadness that we reflect on the events that have transpired over the past week across our nation. For so many of us, the events that unfolded in Minneapolis and elsewhere have unleashed a flood of emotions: anger, fear, frustration, helplessness, sadness... We are outraged and heartbroken over the tragic passing of George Floyd. His death is a sobering and stark reminder of the long-standing social injustices that have disproportionately impacted people of color in America. This is simply unacceptable. So many of our fellow citizens are now struggling– first with the COVID pandemic and now with this tragedy. Dealing with the level of frustration we are feeling and remedying its causes will take time and concerted effort - in the form of ongoing and deliberate intentions, words and actions.
iAnthus has absolutely no tolerance for racism, hatred, oppression or bigotry...period. We recognize the disproportionate impact that the War on Drugs has had on communities of color, and we support social and criminal justice reform to begin the process of remedying those harms. We are actively committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. This commitment manifests itself through our work with state-level associations, as a founding member of the Cannabis Trade Federation, in our support of organizations working to promote equity within the cannabis industry, and through our internal policies and processes. We stand beside our employees, our patients, our partners and every one of our fellow citizens who is attempting to express themselves peacefully and constructively. We stand with people affected by acts of social injustice, large or small, and our commitment is to work together to provide an environment where every single person feels safe, supported and valued for who they are.
Please stay safe, be brave, and be kind!
Thank you,
Randy Maslow
President and Interim CEO
